Here is my last minute submission:
Breathing Under the Sea of Noise IV

I made it really really hard for myself as I wanted a challenge in sound design. The Mallet Piano from Vaults is really organic sounds with a strong transient. What could be more different than that? Super synthetic cyberpunk futuristic soundscape ambient music!! So that was the challenge I set for myself. I used three instances of Vaults Mallet Piano and one Wavering Choir:

  • Bass pulsing sound - Mallet Piano + erosion clippers and convolution
  • Distorted lead sound - Mallet Piano + Ruina dist + convolution
  • Smooth top lead - Mallet Piano + VocalSynth2 + SurgeXT + compression + Trash
  • Chords Pad - Wavering Choir + dist + reverb

I have learned a lot through this challenge and I loved it! Thanks for organizing, cheers!

I’ve recently found myself listening to an amount of Techno. So I figured trying to write some would take me out of my comfort zone. I wouldn’t like to make any bold claims about the genre definition of the final result but I quite like it regardless. I’ve managed to crow bar in at least one instance of each of the ten Vaults instruments with liberal use of appegiators, delays and plenty of reverb. The Mallet Piano features prominently with least half a dozen instances including the main arpeggios, melodic lines and the bass in collaboration with the new Amp Bass. I found myself pretty mobile whilst writing it so go on, have a listen and move/dance….like no one is watching you.

Alien Sound Experiments Paul.M.Nicholas uses only the Vaults Mallet Piano and some Percussion-(CoolMusicHot)
