O R I G I N S - New Series

As part of our new approach here at Crow Hill I’m starting a longer-form video project with a bit of an arc… Here’s just a pilot of the kind of thing I’ll be doing, albeit with more insights and context… https://youtu.be/tpUXOtF9-iM

…here’s the resources post where you can download stuff: https://thecrowhillcompany.com/origins-pilot-a-new-series/

Love to know what you think and stuff you’d like me to talk about. I think the first proper video is gonna be about MIDI. It’s origins, how it works and how we use it today.

Brilliant idea and start, sir. I’ll be following this closely. Still trying to figure out all the details of making kontakt work for me to make my own (and yes, I do have full K8). Thanks.

A great start and I’m looking forward to seeing more of the series. I’d be really interested in seeing similar video(s) on the use of compressors and/or mastering. Thanks!

Excellent as usual. Since you asked, here’s two notes:

My chronic multitasking let me discover that If you’re on the TCHC site and you click anywhere outside of the video it closes and your place in the video is lost. I’m vividly aware that, this is user error but a resume would be nice.

Second… the high contrast outdoor shots are a bit rough in a “why is this albino trying to make me sea sick” sort of way. Maybe find a Osmo pocket or a Go Pro?

Seems a great idea Christian. I from time to time listen to Kepler Orchestra trailer track that you created and demonstrated on the Spitfire Audio website. Its possibly my favourite piece that you’ve created because of that doppler warble effect enhancing the melody. Now if you could demonstrate and explain how you did that effect in more detail that would be great. And possibly if you could develop and bring to market a Crow Hill product that incorporates these doppler warble effects then that would be also even better especially for sound designers. Have a great day buddy.

Hi Christian. Just a quick question, do the ‘Origins’ series require the full version of Kontakt - or will they also work in the Kontakt Player?
Kind regards and thank you…
