Hello i just installed linux mint on my laptop and im wondering is there a way to get the tchc app on it
About 4 months ago I tried it and I think it worked. Can’t verify that as that computer is stored away.
Have you tried wine bottles?
It is much easier these days to get it working. The trick with Linux is to stop fiddling with every setting. Once it works, leave it or you will never get around to actually making music
I did install bottles and it installed Crow Hill app but when i try to install something i get an error saying “The download path could not be resolved. Please make sure any external devices are connected and the download path is set correctly.” ,have you had this issue?
Yeah I haven’t used Linux for over a year sorry. This is probably normal. Like Native access could download the install files for NI instruments but couldn’t get the permissions to execute the files. I would need to locate the files (iso) and install manually.
Dude, I would love for linux to be supported everywhere but I’m sorry to say it’s an uphill battle
At one point I got my existing purchases and Vaults to work by copying my Windows TCHC app setup over to Wine (9.21 with yabridge). It appeared to “just work” but I didn’t mess with it beyond playing with sounds from my purchases and Vaults to see if it would break.
I’ve recently abandoned everything that requires Wine except for Melodyne. Slowly, more companies are supporting Linux. I would love to see Crow Hill join the ranks (I came by to check if anyone is asking about it). I’d also love to see a commercial orchestral library, but no one’s jumped on that yet.
Outside of Melodyne, I’m making music completely Linux-native, and I’m extremely happy with what I’ve got going.
Respect!!
I had a geek out moment for old time sake. Ditched Logic after a I had a hissy fit cause Apple were being really effin annoying. Installed ubuntu on my old 12 year old chipset. Managed to get my midi drums working with Ezi drummer 3 and it was instant as if them were actual drums. Reaper is still ugly as sin but actually does the trick.
Discovered really fit gat amp emulations just as good as tonex.
Decent sampler is linux
But them orchestral libraries are not really there.
These product managers based on electron. My chipset hd 4600 canne talk with the latest vulkin thingy dxvk 2.7.1 but can with dxvd 1.10.3
Wine has become pretty solid but not with electron targeting windows for some reason.
If Crowhill’s product manager was browser based and we could download and auth through that, it possibly could be easy peasy. My 2 cents ![]()
edit: not easy peasy to implement but easy peasy for the user. Needed to clarify
