Hello all. I am Doug Watkins. I live about an hour’s drive northwest of Detroit. I am classically trained in composition and organ performance. I enjoy nearly all genres of music. My own creativity leans towards electronic/symphonic, with jazz and classical influences.

A career in software development, raising four children (six grandchildren) with my beautiful wife, and now caring for elderly parents (I’m sure some of you can relate) has kept me too far distanced from music for far too long.

Recently, I’ve been being able to gradually re-immerse myself. It’s been very therapeutic. About five years ago, a friend from way back invited me to help him start up a classic rock cover band, “Ain’t My Fault.” Though thwarted by the Covid-19 lockdown, we’re still hobbling along. A few months ago I finally replaced my aging MacBook (white plastic) with a Mac Mini M2 Pro. Wow, what a difference! The first entire two weeks, at least, I was suppressing giggles every time I’d sit down at it.

The Crow Hill initiative drew me in with its mission to be a supportive community. As much as I need my family and friends, I need the support of like-minded creative individuals, too. So, thank you all.

Soli Deo Gloria!
