Hello again!
I really appreciated all the recipe ideas (and so did my family). I was wondering, does anyone have a favorite coffee recipe that is their go-to? I work in a craft coffee shop (for those familiar, I live where onyx coffee is located, it is a great place for coffee beans) and I am wanting to try new things out.
My current go-to: The Aerocano, it’s more simple than you may think, it is just steamed espresso and ice (together), it creates an awesome texture and a smooth drink. I enjoy it over ice.
Latte that drove me crazy: Espresso, vanilla bean syrup, choice of milk, and a cold foam using maple syrup, hickory smoked salt, and vanilla extract. It broke my wallet so bad when I discovered the drink.

Hi Noah,
I’m also a barista here at home (Porto) and all of the drinks I make are based on cappuccino (and flat whites for me) in the morning and a cup of espresso or a V60 (my favourite extraction method) from an Ethiopian or Columbian beans!
I do not make experiments, flavour wise: i stick to always trying to the find the little nuances via variances on the ratio and on the water temperature.

Recipe wise I don’t have many, as I always have it black! (And I never went back…
)
I also don’t have sugar. However, when using things like the Greek/ Turkish pot, I learned you can put sugar in the bottom first, and it caramelises! (or nearly does).
Tried the same with a mokka pot since that’s kinda hot too, not sure it had the same effect but was nice.
The best recipe I know if you don’t like milk, can be found in a country with Spanish or Latin American influence. Ask for a Carajillo!
Highly recommended.
Strong black coffee, normally with brandy, rum, mezcal or a liqueur. I’ve been given it with an aniseed liqueur before, not my thing at all, but some love it.
But I recommend the Spanish “Licor 43” for my Carajillo. “Secret” blend of citrus and botanicals, although to me quite vanilla like. Delicious!
Not sure if anyone else has similar ideas?
Got into proper coffee when I first tried a coffee made from real fresh beans and made correctly. I had no idea what “real” coffee tasted like. So rich and not at all bitter.
Since then I’ve used many different coffee makers. It’s amazing the different taste that comes from the exact same beans by using different equipment and their required grind size.
If it’s not a standard espresso machine, I might use moka pot (richer and stronger, but a little bitter and maybe less complex?), aeropress (smoother flavour than any other) cafetière (I find nicely balanced) or on occasion a Greek/Turkish coffee pot (nice hit of rich flavour as long as you don’t nuke it)
I still haven’t tried coffee with actual cream.. I imagine it’s nice, anyone got recommendations for that?
