Hello all, can I put a rookie question out there? For underscore, I’m assuming you master at poking around the 0 type level as normal, so the editor sees to balance etc themselves? Is that right? Thank you!
Here’s my re-submission:
Bridge Guitar, Pocket Strings pizz, and some guitar-body noises as percussion.
Yes that’s my understanding - and makes sense here where you’re not trying to match a specific scene.
(Although I have been wrong about one or two things relating to this challenge!)
Thanks Ed, that’s really helpful
I’m just seeing if my stem plan actually works!
Edit: perhaps if George formby were the apprentice under scrutiny…?
it’s a no from me… ![]()
In corporate video, peaks aimed at -1 is my experience, though I mostly have been cleaning dialogue for the past few years (RX 7, 8, 10 ad nauseam). Let the editor in Adobe/Avid/whatever have a clean audio that never peaks at 0 (or over).
That was great Jeremiah! There was a hint of the Mission Impossible theme in there for me in terms of the rhythm and stridency of it. I could see that working in an actual TV program.
Because I had busy week and missed the live version of FOTRP I have only just twigged that the initial submissions all failed to meet the brief. While this is not ideal for everyone who put time and effort in to producing something, I think its actually quite a useful lesson to anyone who aspires to a living as a composer. You may disagree with the client’s decision, but at the end of they are paying the piper and get to call the tune. I would also say that it demonstrates some integrity on part of CHC if they are willing to risk annoying their followers by grasping the nettle and saying the task has not been met. Not sure if I will have time to submit a send attempt, but I would say the brief is now clearer than before.
Hey Simon,
I’m late to the party but I’ll try and jump in on this challenge and I thought this was really helpful. I feel like this makes if fairly clear… remains to be seen if I actually understood the brief
but I just wanted to say “thanks”, so thank you for making this post.
Hey Ed,
I think this is excellent! Absolutely hits the vibe from what I understand the brief is asking for. Best of luck and thanks for sharing!

This is my second go at the Bridge Guitar challenge. Hopefully I have understood the brief better this time… ![]()
Great submissions again
I’ve had another go too…
Very nicely done. I like it.
I haven’t had time to have a crack at this challenge folks. I been too busy over the last few weeks. So Ive got a lot of catching up to do on this forum. Ive just started to listen to some of your compositions for this challenge today and it seems like you are all smashing it out of the park as usual. There are some valiant efforts so stay creative.
All we need now Matt is for you to host the show buddy.

thanks buddy ![]()
Matt Ive been very busy over the last 2-3 weeks so I haven’t had the chance to spend anytime on the Crow Hill platform. I’m only just now reading up on all of the threads for the bridge guitar challenge. Has there been a misunderstanding on the brief?
Kind of…listen to the first 5 min of the last ring pull and you’ll understand
. In short, no one met the brief so they gave 10 more days to re-submit ![]()
On the 17th limit to submit ![]()
