TRANSCRIPT:

I see running a business as a wholly creative enterprise. One that has the blind alleys, the great ideas that batter your ego and come to nothing, and the seemingly innocuous ideas that come to something phenomenal . They also say you don’t run a business, it runs you. The stresses and strains of getting the right team together (that can be ahem fun) getting systems in place, learning from mistakes, getting funding in, setting the business up, bank accounts, website, tax. Can, at times, all get in the way of the creative heart beat that oxygenates a company.

Over the last year and a bit we have enjoyed incredible success and will be eternally grateful for the support you give us . Some of these Crow Hill moments are amongst the proudest of my professional career. When we hit those celestial highs … they can cast a shadow over areas of the business that then culturally may not entirely fit in suddenly… and our bar we set ourselves is to maintain excellence and to remain innovative … So I asked the team to look at every part of the business and discuss candidly “is this really up to scratch? … is this still ‘us? ’ But more importantly “how can we best deliver an experience for our community that comprehensively stand shoulder to shoulder in excellence, utility and innovation". We feel passionately about every aspect of what we create for you at the Crow Hill community.

After some reflection , certain key questions have arisen for us -

Do we think the look and feel of what we do is cohesive or can we improve in any way ? Are we achieving our goal of artful technology? Or can we improve in some way?

…and for me, have I communicated to the team the true vision and dream I have for this project. A network of music makers working in fellowship making the best music they can make, taking the art and craft forms forward. Are we making the kind of content we set out to make. Whatever happened to those amazing films we were going to do where people from all over the world would be able to score them? What happened to that dream of a resource base with tutorials and support. AND… are people not tired of looking at me in a shed fucking around with Logic? Are we not entering into a new age where humanity will rule supreme and at long last the computer will be pushed to one side in studios to reveal live musicians, virtuosity, microphones… and ideas that are born of looking out of the window, not looking into a screen”.

Candidly the answer is yes we can improve in some ways … So I have decided to do something rather bold. I’ve been in business now for two decades and I know that if, from time to time, you don’t take stock, get off the treadmill and really THINK about WHY you’re doing what you’re doing, and WHY it is the way it has become. Then there is a risk we only reach half way up the summit of inventive possibility.

So, I’m calling time on the first season of this enterprise. We will leave as our leading lights until further notice … three shining jewels in our crown, Dulcet Voice our unique vocal library, Tina Guo’s insanely brilliant Storm Cello library and our mind (and ear) blowing new offering, Snakes’ Venom library released yesterday to hold up as our torchbearers of technology as an artform and level of excellence we look to maintain.

This is our plan…

We will be resting the rest of our catalogue for a brief period of time.
We will be closing many of the resource pages on the site to improve them

Then during this ( I like to call it an interval) continuing to sell these three amazing libraries. Improving the rested ones largely with feedback you have given. But also to re-present in a new livery which will both reflect our brand ambitions but also lend a cohesion that will aid intuitive quick and easy environments to work in.

We will reconsider and start making content we think is going to be valued in this new AI age

We will be constructing a blog based resource hub with tools, study aids, and insights into our world that is not available anywhere else.

And what will we still be doing…

Well we will still be offering our quick and friendly customer support
The forum will remain up and running along with the network dispatch
The youtube channel is going to continue, and I’m going to endeavour to welcome you more into our world so you can see what is going on behind the scenes in preparation for season two.

Competitions and the weekly podcast will continue

…and you will AT LONG last start seeing some definitive movement ith audio inc.

For many of you this could be really annoying. we understand that you may have a commission brewing thagt may require marshal brass… or you can’t quite stretch to concussion even though in a couple of weeks you know you’re really gonna want to leave it. So, as an end of season finale, for three days only if you login into our site you’ll be presented with a code to help you grab the tools you can whilst they’re available. Also to anyone on our mailing list, you’ll be getting two tokens which will last a year from the start of season two, which you will be able to use on any purchase such is our thanks for your support and patience.”

In the meantime during what am thinking of as an interval — grab an ice cream and watch this space.

Best of luck with this. I love what you are doing and look forward to the new season. @christianhenson - I’ve tried to send you an email about something. I’m having endless problems with email going to spam so hope it arrives!

If tchc ‘Season 2’ is half as wonderfully bonkers & magically inspirational as ‘Season 1’ we’re all in for a great time, Christian. I admire the tchc ethos & team spirit, it oozes creativity with a good splosh of enthusiasm, spiced with humour & fun. Such professionalism with a real human/social touch is a powerful draw.
I’m so glad I found this amazing musical community, it’s a joy to listen, learn and appreciate the quality, variety & experience of other musicans.

Can’t wait to see what tchc is planning next, :sunglasses: good times!

I found the company looking for small string gestures. I cannot figure out if it is gone forever, might come back or what else. I think you need to state whether products are coming back or and if not then dedicate some space to stating they are discontinued. Chances are I’ll forget to come back here to check when the undefined season 2 begins so it’s just a lost sale for the sake of some actual clarity. Vouchers for season 2 is nice and all but right now I am going to buy something to fill the need I had because I simply can’t tell if you will ever fulfill the need I has sought you out for. :man_shrugging:
