Spent my Crowhill Xmas voucher, and for less than a cup of coffee, got this absolute gem!
First off, I’ll say I’m no keyboard player but do have quite a few EP plugins to noodle about on from Akai, Air, IK, AAS, but never felt a real connection with them. The sounds were good, be it samples, or modelling, but the vibe and touch just wasn’t there. I put it down to my keyboard controller (an Akai mpk mini plus, with a nice velocity curve straight out the box but freely programmable) or maybe latency in my ageing rig…
Then I try IEP and wow! So responsive and tactile. From gentle to murderous and everything in between, the tones and layers here are beautiful.
Loving it. Great work guys
Anyone else fall in love with this one?
Crank it up, stick it through some more effects and run wild with the pitch bend… Crazy guitar style solos!
I went the same route, and It’s certainly top tier. I was leaning on EPs from 8Dio and Chris Hein for a project I did recently and I wish I could work this Hybrid masterpiece into the mix. Truly excellent work TCHC
I love it!
The Filth serious has created two gems so far.
Guitar Hive is also fantastic and got me dusting off my guitar!
I wonder what Filthy treat we’ll have next?
I did the same and love having Vaults plus this gem in a Logic template that gives me instant access to being creative with the same amount of setup as sitting at the acoustic piano or picking up a sax or flute.
But I have a problem, which I need some help with.
I have an EF44 MIDI controller from InTech Studio and I want to map the controls for each of the vault instruments (I can do this now) and then have this mapping stay on the template when I open a new copy. Currently I need to remap each one.
It is probably a simple fix, if anyone can direct me. Thank you in advance.
i got a potential solution for you, it’s a bit of an odd thing i’ve found that VSTs dont keep the mapping but since you’re in logic what you can do is open your controller assignments (opt+shift+K) and what you do is turn on the learn mode and map the buttons how you like them and this will keep the mapping everywhere not just in your templates.
HOWEVER keep in mind that this could conflict with other things if you use the same controls for other things say for example i have spitfire audio originals and my midi controls are mapped to that layout so i use midi channel 2 for all my instrument mappings and midi channel 1 for all my other mappings that way they dont clash with each other, im not sure how easy changing the midi channel on the EF44 could be for this to work out but if its easy enough you could go this way
it is a bit tedious of a process but if you dont have many instruments or if you care enough to do this with all of them, it’s a great method cause it keeps the mapping always and it doesnt really clash with anything but you have to take the time to map all the things you want/need.
if this sounded confusing let me know cause it’s a bit tricky and it might be easier to show it in action
Update on this: vaults will work on a single program so if you program attic piano, the mapping will also work for any other instrument within vaults so you only have to do the mapping once for vaults (and then for any other plug-ins you have if you want)
I can program the mapping for Attic Piano but it is unclear to me how I can save that and use it for other Vaults items.
There eis a program for the InTech Studio device called “Grid Editor” which has a setting for programming the EF44 however how that relates to the Instruments in Vaults is not clear.
if you map them the way i suggested it will replicate on every Vaults instance no matter what instrument you have loaded because the mapping is within logic and not within vaults
there’s plenty of ways you can set up your controller but i find that to be a more personal thing… actually you know what, this is a large topic… maybe i’ll put something together in case more people are wondering what to do about midi mapping
