Does anyone know of a sampled snare played with brushes? I could drive an hour and half to record a friend, but it would save some time if there’s a recording or a sampled version of it. I’m in a substantial time crunch, and all I need is that nice sound one gets when a drummer stirs the kettle with the brushes.
I’ve had some successes with Toontrack’s drum kits. Then there is a nice kit at Insanity samples. You might also look at Straight Ahead’s drum kits…I just looked up “freesound.org” although I know nothing about them. They seem to have something…Hope this helps…

if you use logic there’s a hidden kit that has brushed snares and the drummer thing can even make you some cool jazz patterns
the kit is called speakeasy, and the pop brush drummer setting will give you the brush sound (it’s outside the usual set of keys for the drummer and they’re unlabeled its in the -1 octave

Thank you! I do use Logic, so I’ll move back to that cue within the next day or two and look into this to see if it can do what I need it to do. If it does, then you’ve saved me time searching and/or hauling equipment to a friend’s house. Much appreciated!
