Has anyone used Pulse app! I purchased Cristal Baschet samples which use Kontact but as the license doesn’t match the format required in kontact the process is not clean or effective.
Hence the system does not perform reliably! In fact StudioOne V6.6 crashed twice in two sessions which now has a ticket open with PreSonus support which will likely go nowhere!
Hi David. I use the Pulse App and then use the paid version of Kontakt to load the instruments by selecting them in the “Files” section of Kontakt. No issues.

Thanks Bob! I am going to test this again tonight with caution as last night I had to uninstall StudioOne, rinse, wash and reinstall!
From your feedback I think it’s where I was last night until the DAW crashed!
Each sample should be loaded separately into Kontakt?
Pulse will install your sample library to your selected drive folder. In Kontakt (paid version) select the ‘Files’ tab and navigate to the folder where you installed the Pulse library, open the ‘Instruments’ folder and then select your chosen instrument (maybe one or more available).
Yes, I use the Pulse app…you should just load the .nki through the files browser. There won’t be a library tab like with a library downloaded through the Native Access app. The Kontakt instruments purchased on pulse are all “open format” (there is no library to activate through Native Access) loaded through the “files” browser. You do need to have the full paid version of Kontakt and not the the Kontakt player, or the instruments may load as “Demo”. In Kontakt 8, go to the “view” dropdown menu and select “classic view”, then navigate to the files browser tab. There may be one or more .nki instruments in the folder depending on the library. You may also have to manually copy the snapshots (presets) to the appropriate location in the N.I. User Content folder if the instrument has some, although sometimes the Pulse app will install the snapshots automatically.
Hi Daniel
Thanks for the feedback. I think looking back I tried to load too many samples (nki) into the Kontact7 page and hence the system crashed bringing down studio one as well. I am now just trying to load a few files and use them as needed.
It working now
Thanks
David
You can always try lowering the sample rate and increasing the buffer size in the control panel for your sound card/audio interface, which will allow you to load more Kontakt instruments and other plug-ins. Then, when it is time to render, you boost the sample rate back up just for rendering. Note that increasing the buffer size will add latency (delay) to your midi input. You want to try and find the “sweet spot” between buffer size and sample rate for your system.
Hi Daniel
I investigate on the areas and see what happens!
I don’t need to have many samples loaded on the pulse app referred to but Kontakt7 often complains about a rate change and needing a restart which has not been implemented intentionally anyway!
ha ha…my Kontakt 8 does the same thing…“please close and restart Kontakt after a sample rate change”…you can just ignore that…It still works regardless…I never close and restart it when it says that…LOL…If it still works, it works.
