There are so many sounds in the library so it is overwhelming at first as to where to start! It is one of my favourite libraries now to add some different textures.

Also, it was a while since I listened to it and I forgot there is a organ line at the end that you were referring to that sits on top of the hurdy gurdy sorry! Thank you again!

I really enjoyed that Lee. It might be my headphones, but I found the vocals a bit soft or indistinct. Almost like they were backing rather than leading if you get my meaning? Could they be brought forward/enhanced a bit perhaps? It’s a great track though! :+1:

Thanks for the kind comments.

I think I had the vocals ‘sitting in’ a little on purpose as the style I was trying to achieve used vocals as part of the collage rather than ‘lead’ (but you may be right, as I think it may also be my tendency to do that when mixing :joy: )

Hi Lee,

You have hit the target you aimed for then, and done it very well! :smiley:

(Commenting on other people’s mixes is always potentially awkward… a bit like telling an artist they should have used more blue in their painting… :laughing: )

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,

England mourns for her dead across the sea.

Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,

Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal

Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres,

There is music in the midst of desolation

And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,

Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.

They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;

They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;

They sit no more at familiar tables of home;

They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;

They sleep beyond England’s foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,

Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,

To the innermost heart of their own land they are known

As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,

Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;

As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,

To the end, to the end, they remain.

The Above Poem Is Titled: For the Fallen BY LAURENCE BINYON

Today in the United Kingdom is what is commonly known as Remembrance Sunday where King Charles III leads the country in paying tribute with a two minutes of silence at the Cenotaph in honour of those courageous and brave war veterans who willingly sacrificed their lives for their country. As a mark of respect for the war veterans who are either deceased or remain alive I thought that I would compose a track in their honour. Because of the poem I thought that I would also title the composition ‘For The Fallen’. About 2mins and 50 seconds into the track I wanted it to sound as though these brave souls were storming the beaches but were being gunned down by machine gunners as they tried in vain to land on the beaches.

Speaking as a guy from a ‘military’ family (both grandfathers, both uncles and my father served in the UK forces for and at various times), for me you just (borrowing a phrase from our American allies) knocked this out of the park in both concept and execution, mate. Thanks. :joy:

Bravo Michael! A very fitting tribute indeed. The swell from faint and far off beginning to the full pell-mell of the battle is very well described. :+1:

I sometimes like to pick plugins and bathe in the sound of it all, this is the result of such an occasion. Hope you enjoy!

That was so lovely to listen to after the absolutely stupid Monday I just had. It was like taking a lovely deep breath! Excellent track! Thank you!

For me that was quite a reflective track. Like a pause to contemplate what’s transpired in the day. Lovely and chilled, but with an edge of expectation. Nice work!

There is such tension and ‘angst’ that I feel coming through this - you’ve created such an evocative emotional landscape! Brilliant tribute!

Thank you for your kind words. It’s most appreciated. L

Thanks for your feed back Eleri. Much appreciated. I hope your day has picked up after what seems like a stressful one for you. Take those deep breaths in and out, in and out. And then move forward, ok.

Just too lovely Lee, thank you so much for sharing :smiling_face:

Thanks Stephen for your feedback buddy. I just wanted to try and describe the self-sacrifice of a soldier in what they have to endure during a war zone. Big respect also goes to you as someone that over many years has had to endure the stress of seeing a loved one go off to battle and not knowing whether or not you will see them again. That alone is an inner battle of heart felt emotions in its own sense for you. Please stay safe and stay creative. God bless.

Such an emotional journey, thank you :smiling_face:
