Venom Trailer Rescore Challenge - Resources

Hello All;
New hear . I wanted to submit my entry to the Venom rescore challenge, however when I emailed the address provided , which was " demos@thecrowhillcompany.com" , I got " Message not delivered" message. Can you please provide an alternative way on submitting my entry?
Thanks,
Bob.

demos@thecrowhillcompany.com is the right address.

Did you try to send a file or upload link? Easiest way I find is upload to YouTube and email a link to Crow Hill Company!

Hi All,

As everyone has shared so much I have also posted a YouTube video of my samples and now I manipulated them etc.

I put the link on the relevant thread ā€œshare your videosā€

Many thanks!

I have taken the bait Christian set out in the podcast this week and made a video of my plastic pot ā€œgramophoneā€ tool.

(with apologies for the 2015 production values!)

That is brilliant!! Fab video, really made me smile

Absolutely love it! Thanks for sharing what you did!

Class video :sunglasses: speaking of 78’s, I was left a bunch which I think are very old, that I’ve never played, aside from buying an actual gramophone, are you aware of any other nifty hacks / ways they could be played?

I’m sorry, I don’t know any alternative way to listen to 78’s other than on an appropriate turntable - and as I understand it, whether the discs are shellac or vinyl determines exactly what kind of stylus/needle you need.

(That said, it’s always seemed to me that it ought to be possible to reconstruct the audio signal from a record/shellac disc with sufficiently detailed scanning of the playing surface. I don’t know if anyone has ever actually done this - although I have used it in part of the narrative of a project I am working on.)

Thanks! I’ll have to check that then, one day maybe will look into getting something suitable to play them.

Oh well all my 78’s have been made into flower bowls !

You might try a local university or historical society. Any place that might have an archive project may be willing to work with you if you grant them permission to keep a copy for their own use.
