We have to have a permanent fixed instrument in there for the next iteration of Vaults… I’ve got something v v v v v v v v v special up my sleeve!
I love all the Vaults! I love the Celestatone in particular though, since I like to compose similar music to Danny Elfman (that dark comicky feel, while also sounding scary) the Celestatone is PERFECT for that… and if I want it to be ambient… HELLO SWARM, MY BEST FRIEND!
Studio Drums is my second fav… if I could vote for two it would be Celestatone and Studio Drums… and I somehow made it possible to make a sonic boom using it while also using it in a cinematic context…
I built a template out for a suite of music for a video essay series and celestatone joined a bunch of pizzicato AR2 strings. That celestatone was so useful and dialed in.
Celestatone is my favorite especially with the additional effects (I love ‘swarm’) available.
I like to combine multiple Vault instruments to get an interesting sound - so far I tried combining piano/celesta, celesta/shimmer guitar. Especially if I tweak the settings of each instrument (like the reverse reverb), there are some cool sounds hidden there.
Like LABS, I always find a use for all of it… I like it all … which is why I have an obscene number of plugins and samples…
Variety is best no favourites for me… I can never decide on that other than Orchestral Music and Kotos
Can I just say, I love R+D Strings, because… It fades away! It’s easy to get a slow swell on a string sound, or find a slow attack sample, but, this one fades away as well, after sustaining a few seconds. While composing or improvising, layered with piano, for example, as a starting point, the sound doesn’t get cluttered because old notes fade away, even with the sustain pedal down.
Such a simple thing that I didn’t know I needed!
