Which DAW do you use? (Poll)

Been using Logic(Pro) for 30 years?!? How can that be!

I have a passing familiarity with ProTools as well

Finally back to Logic after going to a Mac platform and loving it!

Recently discovered Mixbus10 and love it

I love to use Studio One and Reason as a combo, tons of sounds…tons of options!

Logic for me. I think like most of us, it was just what was on the computers at Uni and I had to get on with it!

I’m curious as whether anyone has tried UAD’s LUNA yet? I had a brief dabble and I was impressed; it looks well and the built in tape stuff is good. Very much integrated for UAD though of course.

Ableton Live and Logic

Other: Digital Performer

I love working in Logic, but I’ve been thinking about trying Cubase. I have used Pro Tools, I’d rather not do that again, and I puttered around in Ableton, but it didn’t appeal to me.
Renoise has a Lua scripting API! I am intrigued. I downloaded the demo.

In addition to Ableton Live, I also use Digital Performer.

I use LUNA with a MOTU M4 interface. So far, for what I am doing with it, I find it very intuitive, very natural. Its UI doesn’t get in the way of my creating. I can lay down tracks quickly. Plus, mixes sound really good without much fussing at all. My two cents…

Ableton + Reason. I love the workflow in both and the unique instruments and effects. The workflows have always just been natural for me (to each their own).

all software and daws are good… also you forgot Bitwig!

There is no better or worse, its waht you do with them…

I use LOGIC exclusively!

I use MuseScore as well, but just to create the score. I then export it as midi and load that into my DAW.

I create a score using MuseScore, which I export as midi and then load that into Mixcraft.

Why did you not stay on StudioOne?? Can’t be cost!! Can it?

No, cost had nothing to do with it. I really, really wanted to stay with Studio One because I much preferred the ā€œlookā€ of it over Cubase. And I really liked the Sound Variations. But I mainly compose orchestral music and the midi editing in Cubase just feels stronger to me. Then when Presonus started leaning into the subscription model I guess it spooked me.

Yes the subscription option sucks! I am on StudioOne V6.4 and produce orchestral music. One of the benefits of staying on is the YouTube videos by Gregor! He’s a fantastic tutor!

Yup… definitely love Gregor. I also enjoyed Lukas Ruschitzka. Both of them love what they’re doing and share lots of great info. Maybe one day I’ll talk myself into going back
