For those who signed up early, you should have been sent details of your exclusive ‘earworm.’
For those who missed out, fear not! There’s plenty more goodies to come!
We’d love to hear what you folks have been doing with Concussion. Please share any audio, vids, walkthroughs etc. here
And, don’t forget, you can share Concussion presets! If you’ve created any you think are worth sharing, you can post them here
This topic is for a general discussion on Concussion (I’m a poet and I know it.) If you are experiencing any technical issues with it, or any other Crow Hill product, please raise a ticket with our helpdesk here.
I got it straight away but don’t recall seeing anything re an “earworm”?
Am currently working on a piece using Concussion and have noticed that each time I open up the project in my DAW (FL Studio) the Concussion track is silent because the kit (my own saved user selection) has not loaded to Concussion. I have to manually reload the saved kit to Concussion each time. I do save the project each time before closing down, but the Concussion settings never seem to save. It’s not a major problem for me and I do love the instrument/library but is this something anyone else has reported? Is it specific to FL Studio DAW perhaps?
I have the exact same issue as fentiman2. I’m using Logic, and while it doesn’t happen on all my tracks (my first session with Concussion), three out of four tracks revert back to the default settings. It’s pretty annoying.
In my newest session though, everything reverted to default after I closed, saved, and reopened it. This makes it kind of useless for me, since I can’t always remember the settings I used.
I find the presets with single drums, that’s mapped for left and right hand, to sound different in each hand.
The settings looks the same (unless I missed something), but volume and effects sound very different. Usually way louder in right hand.
Is it supposed to be like that?
This is tested with just mouse click that should be same velocity.
I bought it right before composing my entry for the Composer challenge and loved how diverse and how playable it is! It should make crafting great percussion parts really comprehensive and gives me access to SO many sounds. I can’t imagine ever needing another percussion library after rounding out what I have with Concussion’s full-spectrum. I swapped out half the sounds in my percussion template for Concussion sounds last night, it was that great to work with.
Got it a few days ago and got straight to work on the Composing Challenge!
The samples sound great out of the box and the onboard mixing options can pretty much get you where you want without the need for plugin intervention. Click and Bloom are particularly musical sounding and all the parameters are useful and tastefully responsive.
But what’s really impressed me and gotten me hooked and eager for more is the layout and general operation of the instrument. I’ve found it very intuitive and much faster to execute ideas in situations where I want to layer a larger variety of instruments.
Now, if it also had a handsome collection of pre-made rhythms/phrases/loops that were also editable, there would be no question of its superiority in the world of virtual drum instruments.
Would there be any chance in the future of a @christianhenson skinned version using his beautiful calligraphy and drawings from the manual? The UI looks fab already but a custom version would be rather lovely if ever possible.
Lots of fun. Just got the email today about the “Key FX” thank-you being added to my account automatically upon login. Can’t seem to find that. But otherwise, Concussion has been a lot of fun. Definitely worth it.
Concussion is great, but man I wish I didn’t have this codemeter thing running on my computer. I really hope you guys find a less intrusive way to protect your software in the future.
