Thanks for the advice Ros. And yeah I’ve just been on the Cue Tube website. It seems very interesting. I’ve book marked the website in my browser.

Bye the way my favourite of yours was Mia’s World Cuetube Rescore. :+1:

Cue Tube is a great resource.

Thank you Pat for the thumbs up. Yeah, I’ll keep my eye on the website, yes it looks like a very good resource.

Ahh, thank you! I was worried I was “teaching how to suck eggs” so I changed my reply but forgot it sent an email too! Rookie! Hope you enjoy the Cuetube :slightly_smiling_face:

First time I’ve done anything like this. I’m not on Facebook, InstaTwiX or anything like that. No ‘smartphone’. Anyway, here goes. Hi, I’m Steve from Norwich, UK. I’m in my mid 60s and retired from my career as a research scientist and lecturer. I have no formal musical training. I’ve been writing ‘instrumentals’ for about three years using LMMS and free instrument/effect VSTs on a Windows 8.1 system purely for my own entertainment. It has been an interesting learning process! From the mid-70s to the mid-80s I drummed in amateur/semi-pro jazz groups playing ECM-style jazz (with some Weather Report thrown in), including original pieces, then the science, which I loved, took over. Since 2005 I have a drum kit again, just for relaxation. I also have a modest (few thousand albums) and eclectic record/cassette/CD collection. I followed Christian from Spitfire Audio to Crow Hill because I enjoy the way he thinks about music, he’s inspiring. I can’t use Crow Hill’s freeware because I only have Windows 8.1, but I enjoy seeing what they’ve developed.

Hi Rachel,

New here myself after also having ‘lurked’ for a while. Like your work, especially the Mia’s World rescore. Couldn’t help but smile at your ‘soldering iron’ story. Memories of first time in a recording studio 40-ish years ago. I was the drummer, but also the only one in the band that new anything about electronics so who got to keep the temperamental B3 and the Polymoog and the guitarist’s stomp boxes running…? Yep, 'twas I… but then the chance to sit in front of the beautiful Rupert Neve desk and ask the producer and engineers questions paid for it all! Have fun… :grinning:

Hey. Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Ryan Weeks, I’ve kind of been around pianobook for a while now. I am not a professional composer. I actually am just finishing up PhD in sort of biomedical/chemistry related research, but have been in the pianobook affiliated world for a bit. Anyways, really happy to see it doing well! --And kind of had a question. I have long wanted to submit a decent library for a bit now, and think I may have put together a simple one that sounds pretty okay, but have long wanted a second ear. I remember there was like a sample buddy thing back in the day, any way I could get an ear from someone? Thanks! and hello!

Thank you for your kind words Stephen  I hope you enjoy your visits, it’s a lovely community!

Hi Ryan,

Many congratulations on finishing the PhD from someone who was in the same situation about 40 years ago (biochemistry/biophysics)! Welcome. However, I’m afraid I can’t help with the pianobook library; sure someone else here can though. Good luck.

hi stephen. very cool! yeah no worries, I may just go for it anyways, but was looking for a reason to finally commit to uploading it. thanks!

Hey Crow Hill fam,

I’m Marcus Manderson (@dafingaz), a music composer and producer focusing on sync licensing and trailer music.

My work spans genres from cinematic orchestral to hard hitting hip hop, crafted for brands, TV shows, films, and trailers.

Over the years, I’ve composed music for projects and clients including Disney Theme Parks, the Lil Jon x Pitbull World Tour, and Fortune 500 companies, and my tracks have been placed in ads, streaming series, and major entertainment campaigns.

I also *might still have the most pianobook demos (600) and overall demos online (over 1,000).

I also host panels at some of the world’s biggest music conferences and enjoy spending time with family (wife and 2 kids…and a dog LOL).

Whether I’m producing for an artist, building a custom score for a brand, or prepping a trailer ready remix, my focus is always on delivering music that grabs attention and leaves a lasting impact.

Let’s go!

Welcome Marcus! I think I’ve seen some of your YouTube videos reviewing sample libraries, definitely the Venom one. It sounds like your music is definitely up my street so I’m looking forward to checking it out.

Thanks! Venom is awesome, I use it for a lot of rock, hip hop, and trailer stuff. Didn’t get my hands on Conundrum though. :frowning: LOL

I’m using it for a lot of industrial stuff but it can be quite versatile and get clean sounds. I missed out on concussion too but hopefully will pick it up on the re-release.

Definitely! Fingers crossed for a concussion Black Friday deal!

Concussion is my favourite CrowHill library. It’s great for really aggressive sounding drums and there are some great in built options for shaping the sound.

I need Crow Hill to send me that one. LOL. Heard great things about Concussion.
