Thanks Matt! I really wanted to add drums to it though I probably could have sound designed a kick drum. I might go back to it and flesh it out a bit more with my other libraries now I have time to work on it.

Otherwise it was quite fun to come up with something in a day!

Kev ever so sorry to hear that your not very well. All the best in the recovery of your health buddy. Your health comes first no matter what. Trying to do this competition while going through your battle is an enormous achievement of its self. I loved your string work on this one. Parts of the strings sound like a bass flute and make your composition to me sound a bit Japanes sounding in a good way.

Thank you Michael! I agree with the importance of health; I’m hoping it doesn’t further compound the effects of the first wave, that still troubles me.
As for my non-entry, I get the eastern vibe you relate to; I got a sort of African twist too. But maybe that’s just my covid ears (it does strange things to your ears and the noise!).
Take care and stay tuneful!

Darn, I absolutely didn’t see an announcement for this one until now. Well, in the spirit of participation, I’ve posted a long goofy video of me demoing Pocket Strings. Intro/Outro track made strictly with Pocket Strings.

Looks like the submissions are linked as demos for Pocket Strings ( https://thecrowhillcompany.com/network-demos-pocket-strings/ ). I hope I can update the demo version of what I did to have a polished mix (and maybe even a bit of extra content I thought of since). Not trying to change what I submitted for the challenge itself, but compared to what everyone else submitted I think I was overly strict in how I understood the rules. If it matters, here is the link for the demo version on soundcloud: Stream Pocket Strings demo (revised from challenge submission) by cmopatrick | Listen online for free on SoundCloud

I was too late to be entered for the Challenge, but I still wanted to give it a go anyway, so here is a little something from me using only Pocket Strings. No other VST’s or effects were utilised. I have to say I really love this little bit of kit. It has some lovely rich sounds and the GUI is very cool to. Well done Crow Hill!

Everyone wrote such lovely creative music with that smashing library - I think there were some happy ones in there too so maybe I wasn’t quite so off brief as I had feared with my little party number

I’m not sure if I’ve linked correctly but I set up a soundcloud account for submitting things so I thought I’d share my effort… totally different to what I would normally make, but it was a super fun afternoon - hope it makes someone smile

This is the updated version of my track “Hollow Wake”, originally submitted for the Flash Challenge.
I revisited it after the recent Crow Hill masterclass, taking on board the feedback to refine and adjust the underscore approach.

Thanks again to the Crow Hill team for the guidance, and I hope you enjoy this new take!
