Nice work Mark. Lots of variation. Must have been exciting for you and your friend to compose and play. Lots of ideas.

This track is made mostly made with CHC instruments (Glass Strings, Pocket Strings, Concussion Drums, Tina Guo - Storm Cello, Cosmos and Marshal Brass, ) I have also used Spitfire’s Originals Epic Choir and 8DIO Soundpaint, plus some percussive samples that I recorded from kitchen items for the recent composing challenge where we had to make our own sounds from scratch. Thanks for listening.

Hi, I did this piece in response to Covid. Tried to reflect the different moods during the period. It gets a bit louder after a while. Sorry, had to repost, I accidentally deleted the file.

Hey peeps, long time listener first time caller.
I stumbled on this I did about a year ago. Sorry I’m a serial non finisher . I think it’s a character flaw or something.

Been releasing projects every 1-2 weeks. Last few releases have been a Neo-classical hip hop project, a spanish hip hop project, an R&B project, and the latest release, a trailerized hip hop project.

Check that one out here:

There are 3 distinct moods in this track Michael but they move nicely from one to the other to the next. The first third (up to 1.42) was quite threatening and I got the feeling that if I accepted any invitations from this Sinorita I would end up with a stiletto heel in my ear ! The middle third was definitely alluring and much more demure, while the last third was lively and intriguing. The whole piece felt quite descriptive. Nicely done!

Nice work Steve! It’s interesting that you started the piece off with a hang drum because I made a piece on same topic in 2020 and also used hang drum. Maybe there’s something about the tonality of these instruments that hints of separation or loneliness…?. It would be interesting to see if anyone else on the forum also made tracks dealing with COVID/Lockdown and what instruments they used. If you fancy a listen, my track was at Stream Lockdown by enlimila++ | Listen online for free on SoundCloud.

I really liked your Covid piece. Very original vibe! You have really cool stereo space. Is that a mastering plugin thing? It’s quite unique.

Thank you so much for listening Steve. One of the last things I will do to a piece before finalising it is to check and play around with the stereo balance between the instruments/tracks. I don’t have any set procedure or method in this respect, I just tweak until it seems right. Sometimes it works better than other times  I’m glad you thought it was ok on this occasion.

Hi all :wave:t3: just found out about Crow Hill very recently (thank you @frankbell), and really digging their work! I got the email from Crow Hill about the new Lo-Fi Strings the other day, and it inspired me to write a piece using all and only the freebies. I did a run-over scan of all the GUIs at the end… with some controls in action.

First post, thank for checking it out! :pray:t3:

Hi all, just want to share with you one of my lastest composition. A sort of action thriller sci fi spy music (if really a sort of thing could exist?? )
Good listening :+1:

Thank you for listening SP :slightly_smiling_face::+1:

This has good drive and tension build. Fits the genre really well. :+1:

This score has that bit of epicness and action about it. I thought the first few seconds had a bit of chariots of fire by Vangelis about it. I loved your use of the Storm cello parts in particular which went especially well with the strings sections. The choir parts also strengthened the melody. Your choice of instruments and harmony and tempo really caught the essence of what I think you tried to achieve. Well done.

This is a very creative, imaginative and well thought out composition. well done

I can sense the potential makings of a possible song to this piece. It would be nice to hear your piece with some words.

Thank you Michael, I appreciate your feedback.
