The Hob is a fun one, my personal favourites from the album are “The Wine Calamity” (because of how over the top it is, the director told me it made that scene even funnier because of how serious i played it lol) and “Just Go” (mainly because of how emotional it is)

Feel a little intimidated posting my little tune here after Mark’s score and Jbeatsxxvi’s album… but here goes…. My last (and first) contribution employed only one TCHC instrument, Imperial Electric Piano, so I thought, having acquired a few more such instruments, that I should try and write something using only TCHC instruments and here it is. This uses the aforementioned piano, Guitar Hive (how I spent my £25 Christmas present), Pocket Strings and several Vaults, namely Dulcet Vocal, Harmonium, Amp Bass and Rhythm Machine. There’s also a couple of non TCHC instruments, cymbals, couple of drum fills and a snare for the final chorus. Has come out unlike most of my late 1960s to early 1980s influenced material, maybe even a bit 21st century! Anyway, might spark some ideas in others and might even be enjoyed by a few so here it is:

Very relaxing and chilled track you made there! Evokes images of low lights in a quiet, smoky bar from the 80s! Nice work!

Love this, Mark! Packed full of adventure! :raising_hands::sparkles:

Lovely work here - you’ve got a fantastic sounding album! :raising_hands:

Thank you, Eleri. It’s great that this forum provides different perspectives on the compositions we present. Even though I got my, minimal, musical education playing in smoky bars and clubs in the late 70s and early 80s, I hadn’t seen that connection to this piece until you mentioned it but…. yep it’s right there. Thanks for your insight and all your other contributions to the group. :+1:

Thank you. That really means a lot.

Responding further to your point about smoky bars in the 1980s, here is a virtual recreation of a piece I ‘wrote’ (I can’t actually write music, but you get what I mean) about 45 years ago (I was 19, maybe 20) and played with my jazz group in smoky bars in the early 1980s. I just put this together over Christmas for fun, never intending to share it. However, given your comment…. You may notice that the drummer’s solo gets more applause than the others..? Err, I was the drummer! My recreation, my rules!

I recently had the pleasure of writing some music for a game, ‘Wardens of Chaos’ (early access on steam). Im happy with how these pieces turned out and one key element is just how perfect Vaults’ Wavering Choir is for the vibe of this game. Its used heavily in each track so far!

To me this sounds modern, but at the same time very suggestive of the medieval times that seem to be reflected in the game (swords, sorcery etc). Just what you were aiming for, I guess, but to me you’ve achieved that combination exceptionally well. Agree with you about the choir. Thank you for the opportunity to listen.

Loving all the little details in this, what a great feel

Thankyou for your kind words!

Thanks, Ros, you’re very kind. I think a lot of those details come from the Guitar Hive. I wasn’t sure quite what it was when I bought it, but after spending some time with it I was reminded of John Martyn’s use of the Echoplex and Steve Hillage’s use of multiple digital echos and a harmonizer (‘Meditation of the Dragon’ anybody..?). Once you’ve worked out a simple part to play into it (and simple is the key) then the instrument itself will create for you and you can hone the part you play in until you get the output that you like. Not an instrument for every occasion, at least in my opinion, but very rewarding and intriguing when you want/need that type of sound.

That’s so interesting, and thank you for sharing the great references  I love how the ebb and flow of the music you’ve made makes space for it… I’m using it too in this month’s cue tube where the voiceover needed a breathing space in the ‘music’ but the kind of treading water momentum feeling still needed to be there. Thank you so much for your reply and for sharing your music with us

Thanks for sharing such a lovely laid back composition Stephen. Much appreciated.

I love hearing the applause in this track which makes it sound so real.

This is lovely work, Asriel! You’ve created a great sense of adventure!

I see the game is made by an indie developer - Demo is out - but any idea when the game will be released?

What was it like working on the game’s music and did you help with any other aspects of it?

Cheers,
Eleri

Hey everyone!

I have been really enjoying the new glass beaker plugin music and make a little jingle for it to take a break from my current project. I hope you enjoy! Stream Glass Breaker Trailer Idea by Noah Stockton | Listen online for free on SoundCloud
