Hi, my name is Brian Behm and I’m a multi-hyphenate creative based out of Austin. Grew up playing music before kind of getting out of it for years and then stumbled back into it as part of my motion design practice. Since then I’ve been releasing music under the name No_System (@nosysknows on various social platforms) and I do a lot of internal scoring for projects at the nonprofit production company I work for.
I am a Broadcast Engineer by trade with several years of Audio Engineering in Nashville, Tennessee. I have been involved with music and music production since grade school but honestly, I am more of a collector of sound libraries! Hello to Christian and the Crow Hill team, as well as the Network!!!
Hello! Erik here from the very East of Germany. I‘m a composer and producer, mostly working for a little theatre company called „Theater am Ring Rostock“, writing all the music, songs and sound designs for the plays.
Very happy to be here at last! Very grateful for the amazing stuff Crowhill has made and achieved by now! Very curious for our musical future!
I’m Iain, making music as Iain and songs as Hello Midlands.
Just returning to music after working in theatre un my 20’s as an MD, then taking a bit of a detour through festivals and museums - v excited to be back at a DAW.
I’m just arrived in sunny Brighton and excited to be sharing and making sounds with you all. Cheers!
Hi, Les here from South East London. Been following CH for a while now, entered a couple of the composer challenges. Good to see this place open up and wish the company a good future. Look forward to see what happens.
Matthew from many addresses. Really enjoy much of what Christian has done. And the innovative products.
I create IDM, orchestra and blends of many things. I am also a software developer, visual artist… Music however remains my first love. I am 45 years old.
Hello.
I’m really glad to be part of the crowhill users crowd.
I’m amateur player focused on daily pleasure of playing itself which means that I rather play for myself and life improvising, and sometimes playing classic from notes. (Bach, Chopin).
Crow Hill stuff is essential part of my multilayer setup prepared in reaper.
My name is David. Born in Ireland, lived in the New York/New Jersey area since late 80s. Moved here to immerse myself in the jazz scene (I’m a guitarist). I also live a double life as an arranger/orchestrator/composer and always wanted to score movies and documentaries. With Netflix moving to within 5 mins walk of my house I took this as a sign to get up off my you know what I have since found out from former students who have made a successful career in film score composition, that most of most valuable connections are likely to be directors as opposed to the networks.
I avoided pursuing all this years ago as I thought I’d have to move to LA/Hollywood and with a young family at the time, I didn’t feel like a rolling a dice when it affected others.
Last year, I took the plunge and stopped avoiding working in DAWS - have been using notation programmings, generating music for live players. I had a steep learning curve, with decades of DAW avoidance to overcome. Now to my main point - the tools created here in CHC from the free to the paid are ALL the kind of tools that I know will help me come up with highly personalized orchestrations and I’m excited to see all that you come up with.
Im Adam from Budapest, Hungary. Im a drummer and composer.
Just got back home from a 5 month cruise ship contract (jazz quartet gig). Cant wait to dive deep into composing again.
Hi, I’m Ewan based in Glasgow (best city in Scotland). Long-time guitarist and play in a trio with two friends that I’ve been making music with since the 90’s. My solo stuff is published as ubo which I started during lock down so I am just a few years into digital albeit with guitars / bass from myself as well.
Mike a Brit in Pittsburgh PA… Guitar player who loves sounding better than they actual are with all the awesome tools and sample libraries that are available these days. Just make music for fun and to see what I can actually do… under the title of CawingCrows… so why would I not be interested in The Crow Hill company !!!
Hello, my name is Brent and I spend my time either in Florida or Indonesia, depending on the situation. Currently in Florida buying up ‘inspired by Gibson’ Epiphones and catching the occasional bass for a catch and release party. Cool to join the community.
Hola desde Madrid. I’m Eduardo, just a music hobbyist. I have followed Christian’s YT channel for years and just hope to keep on learning music production.
Hello everyone in the Crow’s nest! My name is Ali. I have been on Soundcloud and other forums for over 12 years as “enlimila”. My musical tastes are very wide but my talents are somewhat limited. I read music very slooooowly, can play guitars/bouziki/mandolin adequately, keyboards/piano poorly, tin whistle badly, and my efforts on the Crumhorn constitute a crime against humanity! I also write poetry and sometimes combine this with musical aspects, and lately have ventured into creating videos to match musical tracks I have composed. I am often inpired by current events and also incorporate field recordings into my compositions.
I knew about Moogs and Fairlights etc from reading the sleevenotes on my LP records but had no idea of how these worked or how to access one (never had the money either). My first introduction to being able to compose stuff using a computer was the old Sony Playstation “Music” program (circa 2000?). This allowed you to create a track by assembling various loops and phrases and applying a limited range of effects to them. I found this amazing because it gave me control over loads of instruments that I could neither afford nor play. I then acquired the old Cakewalk DAW and was able to do more with this. I adopted FL Studio a little while later and began to post stuff on SC. The atmosphere on SC at that time was very good, full of enthusiasm, interaction and co-operation, which is what I can see here now with what Christian & Co are doing at CHC. I also use Ableton but in a more limited way.
Being a bit Jackdaw-like in my affinity for shiny things, I have collected various libraries and musical tools over the years, particularly NI, 8DIO and SA and now CHC, to the point where my computer drives are groaning at the seams. The potential of these libraries far exceeds my own capabilities and I have come to the realisation that, even if I did nothing else but work 6 days a week on compositions for the rest of my life, I would probably never master the use of everything I have available at my fingertips. Hopefully I can still manage a decent piece or two before I or the computer disintegrate.
I find it fascinating to see how other people make use of a new instrument or approach a musical challenge and most often I end up thinking, “God, I wish I’d thought of that…”. Looking forward to seeing what y’all get up to on this forum.
Hi all … I’m a brass player turned keen composer from Rockhampton on the Tropic of Capricorn … pleased to meet you all! And I’ve included a special mate to my left from The Human League (who I met recently)!
Good Morning! I am from the south Brazil. I wish to learn a lot from your experiences. I am 48 years old, but actually i am a child in terms of music knowledge!
I create sound and music for VR/AR experiences. My background is technical with an arts specialty if graphics and music. I am primarily a co-ordinator of talent.
Hello, I’m Stephen, an ex-Pat Brit happily ensconced in the SW of Ireland for 25 years.
I’m in my official retirement phase, having been a professional photographer and university lecturer for over 45 years. I’ve been reading and playing music for even longer than that.
I’m now indulging in my life-long passion for composing, which I never really thought 1) I could do and 2) I would do. 12 months ago, I’d never even opened a DAW.
This week, I’ve started on my 3rd production cues album for a boutique Irish library, and I’ve got 3 tracks on the TCHC SoundCloud webpages.
Huge fan of Christian and (along with my incredibly supportive publisher) he’s become a real inspiration for me.
