Introduce yourself

Hi fellow Crows

Steve from Northampton, UK here.

I’m a “hobbyist” musician, although every now and then, I’m overcome with an aspiration to ‘Level Up’.

Cubase user, player of keys and torturer of ears.

Hi Colin here, complete amateur hobbyist, based in Cumbria. Just enjoying making sounds. In terms of what I like the fact that the second album I bought was TD’s ‘Encore’ should give you a clue!

Hello team, and Michael the Crow. I’m Ryan Dunn from Chicago. I direct TV commercials at www.chrlx.com and make music for pleasure (and some business) as WALSH. I’m a perennial student of the arts, and love this venue as a space to learn from one another and continue to grow as artists.

Thank you, Crow Hill. Thank you, Christian. Looking forward to this.

Hello all. I am Doug Watkins. I live about an hour’s drive northwest of Detroit. I am classically trained in composition and organ performance. I enjoy nearly all genres of music. My own creativity leans towards electronic/symphonic, with jazz and classical influences.

A career in software development, raising four children (six grandchildren) with my beautiful wife, and now caring for elderly parents (I’m sure some of you can relate) has kept me too far distanced from music for far too long.

Recently, I’ve been being able to gradually re-immerse myself. It’s been very therapeutic. About five years ago, a friend from way back invited me to help him start up a classic rock cover band, “Ain’t My Fault.” Though thwarted by the Covid-19 lockdown, we’re still hobbling along. A few months ago I finally replaced my aging MacBook (white plastic) with a Mac Mini M2 Pro. Wow, what a difference! The first entire two weeks, at least, I was suppressing giggles every time I’d sit down at it.

The Crow Hill initiative drew me in with its mission to be a supportive community. As much as I need my family and friends, I need the support of like-minded creative individuals, too. So, thank you all.

Soli Deo Gloria!

Hi I’m Houssie,

My intention was to spend time sailing around the world over the last few years, only to be brought to an abrupt halt due to covid, decide to call it a day and settle in Spain (long story).

Am now building my studio in Southern Spain, to create my Ibiza style tracks.

Hi all,

I’m Mike, dilletente electronic musician hobbyist with the occasional bit of music making this way onto adverts and video games, also dabbled in broadcasting (most recently squeezing an hour of folk miusic onto a pre-Covid country music TV channel, and no they do NOT like Lankum at 4pm on a Friday afternoon).

I release stuff for it’s own sake and currently working under the name “The Crow Garden” which is nothing to do with Crow Hill. There;’s just enough online to mark my territory as it were, will share with communities like this once my record is finished.

Lovely to be here, been ages since I joined a proper forum. They’ve evolved…

Hello!
Been a Spitfire user and a LABS-explorer for many years.

Since Crow Hill started and Christian was allowed to be himself again, things are looking very promising!

I am a recluse, living a peaceful life in Budapest with coffee, cake, concerts and a cigar. I construct mostly orchestral music these days. Presently on the Zenapolae netlabel.

Hi Folks, I’m Jean-Loup from Penicuik, Midlothian

I’m a composer and musician working towards my dream of making music for a living (whatever form this ends up taking) while still juggling between a day job, my family and other hobbies.

I’ve been following Christian for a few years now and I’m excited to see where Crow Hill will go. If you were at the composer walk last month, hello again. I’m glad this place exists.

Hello :grinning:

I’ve been learning about composing and sound engineering for a number of years and love to create things musical. I’ve been interested in plugins, samples and synths for a long time and very excited by the work Crowhill is doing already. Glad to be on the discourse and looking forward to delving into the topics!

Hi everyone. The many years I’ve spent inventing and re-inventing myself so as to fit into a disparate variety of careers that all induced enormous amounts of self doubt and imposter syndrome have all resolved into this - I’m someone who faffs around writing songs that no one will ever hear telling myself that this will be a great number for that musical I’ve been telling friends I’m creating while fighting off enormous amounts of self doubt and imposter syndrome. Glad to be here.
